Nice, the diamond of French Riviera.
Delicious food, lots of seafood and traditional dishes like the Socca. Walk along the English promenade - la promenda des anglais (the English army used to vacation a lot in Nice and hence the name of the promenade). You will find special, beautiful blue ocean and long beaches filled with small rocks that resemble river pebbles.
Visit the beautiful Old City, walk around the crowded small streets, so narrow that neighbors could pass a can of sugar through the windows. Lots of colors and smells of Nice!
A nice and central place to start walking around from is Place Massena. From there you can continue towards Rue Miralheti and stop to eat a Succah - a traditional dish originating in Spain but which can be found today (to the best of my knowledge) only in Nice. You'll have to be patient and wait for about half an hour. There's always a queue, even in winter, in the rain, during hot summer days ... always.
It is definitely worth stopping to eat a seafood platter on ice in the restaurant with the freshest seafood fruits - Le Turin.
Another option is to take some shrimps and langostines to Take Away, and go eat them on the beach.
